Independent Project - Geekdom ▪ Present Frontend Software Engineer - Parlevel Systems ▪ September 2018 – November 2019 Employee - H-E-B ▪ December 2009 – November 2017 Data Integrity Specialist, eCommerce – Own Brand Department, H-E-B ▪ August 2015 – November 2017 Assistant to Inventory Analysts, GM Procurement – H-E-B ▪ March 2015 – July 2015 IS Intern – QA Software Associate for Strategy & Loyalty – H-E-B ▪ June 2014 – August 2014
Almost 9 years of experience and knowledge regarding the business operations of H-E-B ranging from GM Procurement to Dairy Partner to Image Specialist for Finance & Accounting, as well as Cashier, Grocery partner, GM Overnight Stocker, and working at the corporate office.
I wrangled ad hoc data from multiple sources to update nutrition, ingredients, and images for HEB products as a liaison for the Own Brand department with the eCommerce team.
I taught myself Excel and achieved BI certification in MicroStrategy to run reports, handle BI data, and track product processing.
I increased the rate of product updates online by 229% in 2015 by streamlining data analysis, coordination of images shoots, and modifying shipping practices. I also cut shipping costs by 3/4 by coordinating and scheduling efficient product image shoots.
I assisted three Inventory Analysts across different departments by helping them track orders, Out of Stock, Exceptions, Inventory Reports. I also handled vendor complaints, shipping/receiving issues, and inventory anomalies to correct ordering quantities. I successfully manually placed multiple orders for millions of dollars in inventory for the company during peak back-to-school season.
I worked with the PM/Tech Lead on the testing process for several pages of the new heb.com website doing QA work, leading meetings with the source code vendor and testing team lead, handling testing that was only done internally, tracking defects and resolving them. I helped my team reduce the number of defects down to 25% of the original number, which was originally over 400 defects. Our team was the only team to get below 50% resolution. I also attended high-level daily standup meetings and helped to report our team progress to the Directors of IS.
I helped gather requirements for digital coupon paths with vendors and spent two weeks coding with the SADC team on an unrelated internal web application utilizing Java and SQL queries. I was the only intern working on the business side dealing with upper management while doing QA work, and also spending time programming with the coding team.
